You’ve shaped champions.
You’ve coached late nights, built leaders out of boys and girls, and taught lessons that can’t be found in textbooks.
You don’t just build athletes.
You build people.
But let me ask you a bold question:
What happens when the final whistle blows — and the athlete has no games left to play?
Where do they go when college isn’t the answer, the workforce feels aimless, and they’re craving something bigger?
That is where you — Coach — become a difference off the field.
Because the values you have instilled — discipline, grit, teamwork, sacrifice — are the exact same values we build in the United States Marine Corps.
And right now, we need your help.
Not to sell.
Not to recruit.
But to guide.
To open a door most young people don’t even realize exists.
Your Influence Is Greater Than You Realize
When a coach talks, athletes listen. That is just how it works.
Your words carry more weight than almost anyone else in their lives — including parents and teachers. Why?
Because you have earned their respect.
You have seen them at their weakest. You have pushed them to their limit. You have been in the trenches with them — coaching them through failure and building their character with every drill.
So when you say:
“You have got what it takes to be a Marine.”
That is not just a compliment.
That is a life-altering moment.
Why So Many Young Athletes Are Lost After Graduation
Let’s be honest:
A lot of students do not have a real plan.
College is expensive — and not always the right fit. The job market is confusing. Trade schools are underexplored.
And most of what is pushed in high school does not prepare them for real-world pressure or purpose.
They want something real.
They want to feel needed, tested, challenged, and transformed.
They want to be a part of something bigger than themselves.
And they do not know where to find it.
That is where the Marine Corps changes lives. And that is where you come in.
Athletes Already Think Like Marines
You have been preparing them to have a great opportunity in the Marines, whether you knew it or not. Take a look:

What We DemandFinish the Drill
Push Through the MissionShow Up every day
Be accountable to your unitLead by example
Earn the respect of those you leadBe coachable

Fight for the person next to you
Sound familiar?
That is why athletes make phenomenial Marines. They already live the values. We just take them further.
The Marine Corps Is Not a Last Resort — It’s an Elite Path
Let’s bust the myth: The military isn’t for people who “had no other options.” The Marine Corps is one of the hardest paths to earn — and one of the hardest paths to qualify for — but one of the most rewarding paths to walk.
We do not hand out uniforms. We forge them.
And in return, we give these young men and women:
- Elite level training
- Unshakeable confidence
- Career building skills
- Global travel
- Free college with zero debt
- Leadership at 19 most don’t see at 30.
Not everyone can hack it. And that is why we are the Few. The Proud.
But the kids you have been coaching? Some of them absolutely can.
Why the Marine Corps Needs Coaches
We do not want you to sell the Marine Corps.
We want you to recognize potential.
To see the young man or woman in your weight room, on your practice field, in your huddle… and realize they are more than an athlete.
They are the future leaders we need in the Marine Corps and in society.
A warrior-in-waiting.
Someone with untapped greatness.
But they won’t find us unless someone like you points them our way.
Your endorsement opens doors.
A Message from One Coach to Another
I am a Marine Corps recruiter now. But before that, I was that lost athlete.
High school football, wrestling, and baseball. A good student. No clue what I wanted to do after high school. I didn’t want to waste time or money in college in classes I wasn’t passionate about.
One coach changed everything for me. He did not give a speech — he just said to me:
“You have got the mindset for something bigger. Ever thought about the military?”
That conversation changed the entire course of my life.
That is all it takes. One simple sentence. From someone they trust.
True Story
Let me tell you about a young man named Tyler that I had the honor of helping become a Marine.
6’1″. Linebacker. Team captain. Strong work ethic. The kind of athlete that showed up early and stayed late. The kind of leader others looked up to. No idea what to do when he graduated.
His coach pulled him aside one evening and said, “You need a challenge to pursue — you should talk to Sgt Stewart with the Marines.”
Tyler was skeptical. But we sat down and talked. I showed him what the Corps really offers — structure, purpose, strength, and leadership.
Fast forward:
Tyler is now a Sergeant. Leading Marines. Earning college credits. One his second enlistment. Traveling the world. Sending money home to help support his family.
Same mindset.
New mission.
All because his coach made it happen.
Call to Coaches: We Need Your Voice
Right now, across the country, there are coaches like you who have sent athletes to the Corps — and watched them thrive.
And right now, there are athletes in your program who are capable of becoming Marines.
We just need you to help them realize it.
Mention it to them.
Encourage the conversations.
Connect them with someone who can answer their questions.
That is all it takes.
Here Is How You Can Help
Step 1 — Look around your team. Who has potential? Who needs purpose? Who leads quietly? Who thrives under pressure?
Step 2 — Say something. Even just:
“You’ve got what it takes to be a Marine. Want to talk to someone about it?”
Step 3 — Connect them with me on here (or your local Marine Corps recruiter). We will take it from there. No pressure. No commitments. Just information and honest answers.
